Hugs with Arms features artwork that fuels passion and inspires action. We’re currently inviting socially-engaged artists seeking a wider audience to partner with us and sell prints of their work.

Why sell prints through Hugs With Arms?

Earn extra income from your artwork
By selling prints of work you’ve already completed, you can make some money without lifting a paintbrush. You earn 50% of the list price for every print and receive a bonus for sales you refer directly.

Create more free time to make art
You love to create artwork, not busywork. Once you send us digital files of your art, we promote it, sell it, print it and ship it. You can focus on being creative and forget about boring things like credit card processing and export declarations.

Be seen by more people
We’ll work hard to put you and your work in front of as many eyeballs as possible. Each new print will be announced to the Hugs with Arms community, and our comprehensive marketing campaigns will build audiences and drive sales over time.

How do I submit my work?

Send us an email at submissions@hugswitharms.com, and include the following:

We review every submission, and will try our darndest to get back to you within a month. (But please don't hold it against us if we get too swamped. We love you anyway!)

FAQ

What kind of artwork are you looking for?

Besides our social mandate, we’re looking for work that will reproduce well as a two-dimensional digital print. Drawing, painting, photography, digital art, collage, video stills … we’re open-minded as far as the original media is concerned.

Must I hand over the rights to my work?

Definitely not! You’ll keep the rights to your artwork. All we need is your permission to create the prints and use your image for marketing purposes. If anyone else asks to use your work, we’ll put them in touch with you.

Will it cost me anything to participate?

You won’t pay a single penny out of pocket. There is no cost to submit your work or sell prints through our shop. The cost of paper and ink (around $0.04 per square inch) is borne by the artist, but it’s simply deducted from our monthly payments to you. We cover everything else: marketing, packaging, shipping, and so on.

How do I get paid?

Artists are paid quarterly, by cheque or online money transfer.

How big are the prints and the editions?

Each print will be offered in three different sizes and price points:

  • 8×10 prints for $25 (edition of 200)
  • 11×14 prints for $59 (edition of 200)
  • 16×20 prints for $195 (edition of 50)
The printed area of the paper will vary, depending on the dimensions of the original artwork. There will also be a 0.5 inch border to facilitate framing.

How do I know the prints will be high quality?

We’ll print your work on acid-free archival paper using Epson Stylus Pro printers with UltraChrome K3 inks. You’ll have a chance to approve a hard proof, and we’ll work with you to make any needed adjustments before the prints are available to the public.

I have gallery representation. Can I still participate?

If you have an exclusive arrangement with a gallery that may prevent you from selling prints of your work online, we suggest you get in touch with them first. If they have any questions, we’d be happy to chat with them.
